That was fast. After speculation that Stephen Colbert was the front-runner to take over the Late Show with David Letterman, CBS just announced that he would be the replacement for show immediately after Letterman steps down in 2015. For the time being, Colbert has signed a 5-year deal with the network, which is still scheduled to finalize in the coming weeks. A timetable or exact date for Letterman’s last dance has not been set yet, but it is certainly drawing near.
