Samsung Unveils The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy 6 Edge

The future is here

With Apple putting the chokehold in the smartphone industry with the iPhone 6, Samsung had to go back to the drawing board in terms of their flagship device. There’s only one way you can win in the phone wars, and that’s if you’re doing things better than the next company.

As far as the all-new Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone goes, Samsung went on to redesign the phone in every way you can possibly imagine, listening to fans about the bad aspects they have complained about for years. For example, the S6 will feature a metal frame for a better feel as opposed to the often criticized plastic they always carried. The software has been switched up. You can expect less bloatware installed out of the box. The user experience is unlike what previous versions came pre-installed with.

Today at their big press conference in Spain ahead of Mobile World Congress 2015, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S6 for the first time, giving more details on the upcoming flagship device.

The phone will come equipped with a 5.1-inch quad HD Super AMOLED display, 32GB-128GB of internal storage, a 16-megapixel rear camera plus 5-megapixel front-facing camera (hell better selfies), and an overhaul of TouchWiz over Android Lollipop 5.0.

It will also include wireless charging support, a heart rate sensor, LoopPay (to compete with Apple Pay), and a fingerprint scanner for security reasons. As far as the battery power, it will not come a rechangeable battery like past versions (that means you won’t be able to reset by just taking the battery out of the back), but it will feature a fast charging battery that should last longer than users have come to expect.

The only bad part thus far? There will be no expandable memory.

Prices in the United States have not been announced yet but the phone will be available for carriers like Verizon Wireless, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint on April 10.
