Remy Ma just came from from a 10-year bid, so she would know a thing or two about being a female in prison. So does Orange The New Black series on Netflix stack up in terms of realism? She agrees with some of it, but not all.
As far as scenes where prisoners are outside in the dark, she debunks the scene and says the guards would have rushed both females and there’s no way they would have exited doors without anyone opening it for them. As far as the church scenes, she agreed that things do go down like that sometimes and they have terms for shortys who weren’t sexual with women outside, but handled their business inside the box.
Interestingly enough, Remy mentioned she would like to star in the show one day and says she would bring a more real element to it. Let’s hope it happens!
