The theaters are quiet this weekend, but quality films arrive
Welcome to the final weekend of January in 2015. Last weekend, American Sniper broke the box offices once again, grossing an impressive $65 million to bring its total revenue to an over-achieving $200 million. Unfortunately, Jennifer Lopez’ return to theaters in The Box Next Door saw moderate performances, only tallying $15 million for its opening weekend on a large campaign of media runs in Manhattan and Hollywood.
Tonight, there a few new releases hitting the national scene here; but that’s largely due to the focus and attention for the biggest sporting event of the year.
