“Perfection is ground zero”
If there’s one thing we’ve learned about Kanye West during this entire UK run he’s been on the past week and some change is that he’s always striving to be the best at what he does. Being great isn’t enough. It’s possible that we always knew this deep down and how obsessed with creativity he is, but it seemed more compulsive than passion. Now that he’s expressing himself in a calmer way, it’s easier to understand why he drives himself so much to push boundaries and break barriers.
Live from the GQ Style Studio, he talks about his very topic, saying that people should conform to just getting a 10 our of 10. They should reach beyond that. He doesn’t care what people think of him, because he wants to take things to “genius level.”
This is actually something he touched during his interview with Zane Lowe when he got emotional as he spoke on Louise Wilson. This is a different take on that conversation.
