The great NABIL is set to make his major directorial debut!
John Legend is set to produce one of the biggest workings ever for his Get Lifted Film Co. Along with Furst Films, the two brands have partnered with IM Global to create an untitled musical romantic drama starring Miguel (currently in negotiations). The project written, by Taylor Cohen, will also feature the film directorial debut of his long-time G.O.O.D. Music affiliate and cohort, Nabil Elderkin. Alongside G.L.F.C. partner Mike Jackson, Legend’s set to curate the feature film; which will follow a story of a one-hit wonder who regains his love for singing after coincidentally being hired to help an aspiring songstress pursue her dreams.
“Mike, Ty and I are really excited about producing our long time friend and collaborator Nabil Elderkin’s directorial debut,” said Legend in a statement. “He’s a major talent and being able to cast Miguel in the male lead puts us in the position to really build an incredible film with strong musical elements. We look forward to working with this dream team we’ve assembled to deliver something special.”
