Jamie Foxx Talks National Anthem Criticism & Playing Mike Tyson In New Biopic

If you tuned into the snore fest that was dubbed as the fight of the century this past weekend between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, then you caught Jamie Foxx singing the National Anthem before it all went down. The singer and actor received a bit of flack for how terrible his rendition of the patriotic song sounded. During his visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Foxx explained that his inner-ears came out as he was singing which made it hard for him to keep up with the organ over the roaring crowd. Though it sound bad during the telecast, Foxx said it killed live from the arena.

In addition to responding to the criticism, Jamie Foxx briefly spoke on playing Mike Tyson for the upcoming biopic about the controversial fighter. He then shared a hilarious story about meeting Mike Tyson for the first time and telling a joke about him while he was in the audience of one of his shows, as well as meeting Mike when he was younger and conversing with him in recent years and how much he’s changed since. The meeting ultimately led to them wanting to do a movie about Mike’s life.
