HBO To Retire “The Newsroom” After Season 3

It looks like we’ll be saying goodbye to another HBO series come this Fall. The Newsroom has been renewed for a third and final season, making that the second in less than a week to get the bad news. They will begin filming this Spring.

Contrary to poor ratings, The Newsroom was actually up from season one, but Aaron Sorkin took a break from the show to write a Steve Jobs biopic he finally turned into Sony. He will now dedicate his effort to putting together one final season and will be joined by Paul Lieberstein, of The Office fame. Considering they left off on election night, there will be plenty of stories the ACN News Night team can portray over the course of the final hour, before HBO pulls the plug on another show we watch.

Will MacKenzie and McAvoy live happily forever McAfter? Will Maggie Jordan let go of that tragic incident and come back to reality? Will Don Keefer finally grow some balls? Most of all, we’re gonna miss Hallie Shae and Olivia Munn’s sarcastic humor.
