Hip-Hop and fashion have gone hand in hand since the beginning. Although style has changed numerous times throughout the past decades and the span of the genre, one thing is for sure, fashion is just as important (sadly) in the success of artists in today’s era.
A new documentary titled Fresh Dressed is exploring the start of how hip-hop fashion became a multi-billion dollar industry, starting with the big chains, Adidas and baggy pants.
The likes of Kanye West, Pharrell, Pusha T, Diddy and others will be giving commentary for the film, including why they branched out and explored the fashion side of things besides just rap. Most have had success in the area, so they have more insight as to why it worked.
Fresh Dressed will be out in select theaters on June 26. Peep the trailer above.
