Charli XCX For V Magazine

Charli looking normal

Based on the music, if you had to categorize Charli XCX‘s style, you’d probably lean more on the punk side of things. While she continues her upward trajectory on the charts after a breakout year, she talked to V Magazine about what that journey has been like, including how Hillary Duff missed out on “Boom Clap,” the current state of Pop music and why she’s different and her opinion on her album Sucker.

“The very pop way that I think isn’t recognized, sometimes. I think some people don’t appreciate the Spice Girls and Britney Spears as great, intelligent pop music. They’ll always be like, that’s you coming from a weird angle. And I’m like, No, you just don’t get it. I always wanted to be in the pop sphere, but I wanted to do it on my own terms. I don’t want to follow what anyone else has done before me.”

Check out her spread with the magazine above, where she still shows a bit of that punk side in the biker jacket, but also tones it down with the makeup and dressing a bit more down.
