After months of speculation, Bruce Jenner finally made the inevitable announcement that he was transitioning into a woman. The last year and a half for the former US Olympic champion hasn’t been one that he’s wanting to remember past December, with a divorce and being involved in a fatal car incident last February that resulted in somebody dying – but finally cleared his conscious of hiding a life-long secret Friday evening.
In a special edition of 20/20 on ABC News, Diane Sawyer sat-down with Bruce, where he initially held back tears opening with saying “for all intents and purposes, I am a woman” and said his interview was indeed not a publicity stunt. With an official eight-part transgender docu-series set to air on E! in this July 26th, he opened up on being terrified to tell his kids initially about the big news but cited Kanye West and Kim Kardashian as two of his biggest helpers during the preliminary transitional stages.
Jenner still classifies himself not gay and is still attracted to women, but his soul has always been a woman since the day he was born.
