Yesterday, Jordan Brand held an exclusive launch to reveal the 28th installment of the Air Jordan sneaker franchise. Legendary shoe designer Tinker Hatfield and co-designer Josh Heard set out to change the game, creating a strictly basketball technology sneaker to give players the best comfortability on the court. The new Air Jordan XX8 features a outer zip-up unit, protecting the Schoeller inside mesh, and shoe strings. The shoe also includes a responsive Nike Zoom unit and the new ‘Jordan Flight Plate”, making this the lightest sneaker in the Air Jordan franchise history
Get some insight from Tinker Hartfield himself, as he gives us some insight on the design process behind the new Air Jordan XX8, above. The campaign for the new J’s will kick off during the 2013 NBA All-Star weekend. Check out some detailed images below.
