Fifty Cent x FOX

With the success and viewership stability of Power on Starz steady for a season three in 2016, Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson is transitioning from premium cable to network television next year. It’s been announced that the Queens rapper-turned-mogul will be heading to FOX to produce and star in a new single-camera series, My Friend 50. Fifty will have a recurring role on the series, and will join Will Packer (Uncle Buck, Truth Be Told) to helm creative decisions.

Written by Ava Tramer (Angie Tribeca), My Friend 50 centers on an unstable twenty something Amanda Kramer, who believes joining Mr. Jackson’s entourage to solve all of her financial and personal problems. This new move to 21st Century Fox is eye-raising, given 50’s recent criticism of their Empire series, as they’ll all now be working together under the same umbrella.
