Sony Continues dominance, with Nintendo making strides

10 months and going, Sony’s PlayStation 4 has outsold the Xbox One and Wii-U in North America – as well as worldwide. Surprisingly, overall sales have taken a hit since 2013, but next-generation hardware has seen impressive increases in the gaming world for an all-time high in revenue.

Take-Two Interactive’s annual basketball simulator, NBA 2K15 topped all games finishing as the highest selling game for October, while Nintendo’s 3DS version for Super Smash Bros. ended the month as runner-up. The biggest shock of October, was Xbox One’s AAA-Title Sunset Overdrive not even making the charts for the month.

Although it was being packaged in the newly price-drop promotion for this holiday on the Xbox One, it unfortunately finished the month as number 11. Next month should be even more interesting, when we find out if Microsoft was truthful in their claims of coming close to its rival Sony’s piece of hardware in next-gen.
