Since the release of the Nintendo Entertainment System nearly 30 years ago, the days of going to local arcades (and even childhood youth outside) soon faded away. While that obviously wasn’t the first induction into home consoles, the BIG N were the first to have mainstream success, which Magnavox or Atari never saw.

This soon prompted competition from slew of companies, creating questionable and laughable pieces of hardware that later saw the emergence of Sega in the 1990s. The evolution of video games on the graphics screen has seen an obvious change of the years, but that wasn’t the only important element constantly changing.

Video game controllers are an important component to the virtual world, which some specially choose hardware for personal preference of comfort and precision with game pads. Below, get a look at not only Nintendo’s evolution of 30 years, but also Sony and Microsoft’s emergence over the last two decades.
