From 1989 ’til infinity.
We’ve been playing Madden ’15 all week and coincidentally watched a few YouTube videos of Troy Aikman Football because we were thinking about how crazy the graphics have improved since we were kids, and it seems like we weren’t the only ones.
Michael Bromberg & Mr. Bobsdojo took the time to create “The Evolution of Madden,” which shows the game at it’s infancy, starting with gameplay from 1989 and fast forwarding it through the years to the stunning product we see today. What’s even more amazing, is the fact they recreated the 1998 NFC Wild Card game between the 49ers and the Packers, which ended on an epic last drive by Steve Young.
Besides the way the edited every game improvement on there, the fact that they used the original commentary from John Madden and Pat Summerall just brings us back to the old days of the NFL. We’ll always miss the commentary from the duo on FOX.
Here’s to 25 years of Madden NFL.
