This is finally happening. . .

In the past, Microsoft has been big on third party premieres with Madden NFL Football and Call of Duty headlining their showcasing for past E3 press events ever year. Luckily for the gaming industry and Xbox One heads, things are finally about change. Phil Spencer Microsoft Studios and Xbox One has shared some pre-e3 news through social media to start an early frenzy of what to expect in 8 weeks.

Before the downtown Los Angeles is overtaken by nerds and local pot dealers, Phil teased fans saying Microsoft has an exclusive new IP to be unveiled during the event and wants to focus the event on more 1st party titles – in comparison to years past. With the departure of Phil Harrison of Xbox in Europe last week, Phil is looking to bring attention back to gaming for the multipurpose entertainment machine from 2013.

With Halo 5: Guardians set to be this year’s Killer-App for the console when it arrives on October 27th and an imminent reveal Gears of War next-gen looming, a new IP (hopefully not a generic shooter) is something that will bring a breath of fresh air to the stagnant console. Our logical assumption would be the much-talked about return of 2K Sports football, with the previously talked about Xbox One exclusive, Joe Montana Football 2K16.
