The return of that #RNS on the hardwood this fall!

As somebody who really hates the current state of the NBA 2K franchise, the series may have just gotten a much-needed breath of fresh air. According to Polygon, legendary filmmaker and New York Knicks diehard fan (when he’s not in Brooklyn), Spike Lee has officially been tapped to have creative control of the MyCareer mode.

Lee’s involvement hasn’t been confirmed from either his side or 2K Sports; but marketing covers featuring Stephen Curry, James Harden and Kevin Durant were prematurely leaked today – including the Houston Rockets superstar himself spilling the beans before quickly removing the cover. NBA 2K16 is currently being promoted as a “Spike Lee Joint!”, with the emphasis of the of players becoming the actual story within the realm of 2K.

Since his New York Post interview last month, where he teased working on a NBA video-game project, Lee’s involvement with the title has unofficially been unveiled before 2K Games and Visual Concepts head to e3. Look for more details to surface in the coming weeks regarding the project, including the first gameplay teaser.
