MLB 2K13 Announced For March 5th With David Price As Cover Star

Contrary to previous reports, MLB 2K13 will indeed be hitting the gaming field this Spring as 2K Sports has a March 5th release date set in stone. Non PS3 owners who like hitting the diamond every summer after the conclusion of the NBA playoffs will now still be in the game all summer. Although the game wasn’t listed to release in a recent press release for Take-Two for the fiscal year this comes as a shock to baseball gaming community as 2K sports nearly made the announcement of the MLB series getting discontinued.

As the game’s exclusive MLB license expired in 2012, rumors circulated that EA Sports would be returning to the diamond as well but it looks like for now we’ll have to wait a few more months to see if the company wants another shot at baseball.

“We’d like to thank our league partners for their support in helping us reach an agreement to bring back MLB 2K,” said Jason Argent, vice president of marketing for 2K Sports. “We know fans are extremely passionate about the MLB 2K series and the Perfect Game Challenge.”

This year, cover rights go to the Tampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price who recently won the American League Cy Young award last year finishing with a 2.56 ERA and an impressive 20-5 record. MLB 2K12 cover guy Justin Verlander finished as runner-up as this promoted the team over at 2K sports to bring back “The Perfect Game Challenge” for $1 million dollars.
