I SAID JOE MONTANIO!

Earlier this month, a former 2K Sports employee revealed online that Joe Montana 16 Football would head to Xbox One and PC later this year. While fans have been skeptical on whether an actual football game with 2K Sports involvement could possibly happen, Joe Montana recently revealed the very first in-game image of his upcoming next-generation football game due out later this year.

In the screen, we learn Joe Montana Football 16 will be using the Unreal 4 Engine, which should be an indication that groundbreaking technology on the gridiron is imminent. Unfortunately, the title didn’t display NFL licensing, previously is rumored to be allocated in a first party release on Microsoft platforms. That doesn’t mean shared create teams won’t be implemented (see: Backbreaker), as we can assume this would happen on unlicensed franchises. Take a look at the debut image above and look for the official unveiling this June at e3.
