Introducing Google’s “Nexus Player”

Entertainment tailored for you

Last week, Google dropped megatons revealing their official Nexus 9 tablet. With consumers looking for a new android-based tablet in time for the holiday season approaching, we’re formally introduced to Google’s official digital media player. While you’ve had time to soak in the tablet and its impressive specs, meet Nexus Player.

One of our favorite inventions in recent memory has without a doubt been Chromecast, the all-in-one USB-connected digital media player – currently retailed at $35. Last spring, Amazon jumped into the competitive streaming media player arena with the launch of their FireTV device. Many have been comparing Nexus player to Amazon’s FireTV (which also offers gaming) as well as Roku and Apple TV.

On the strength of Chromecast alone, we’re giving Google’s latest product a second look, due its eye-raising $99 price point ($149 with controller). With Android’s latest operation system 5.0 Lollipop set to release in a few weeks, Nexus Player will be the first device to implement the Android TV platform. During its reveal, the FCC initially didn’t clear the WiFi media hub, but was finally given the green light to re-open pre-orders a few days ago.

Get a brief look into to the player’s capabilities above and click HERE for full specifications.
