Halo: The Master Chief Collection Given New Worldwide Release Date

That update is really going to take a long time

This weekend, Dan Ayoub of developer 343 Industries revealed the Halo: The Master Chief Collection had officially gone GOLD. During the announcement, he also confirmed an unfortunate 20GB day-one update, that’s required to play online; so if you were hoping to play the game at midnight, get some sleep just we all did for NBA 2K15. The 4-in-1 game featuring Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4 will take up nearly the entire capacity of a 45GB Blu-ray disc featuring all multilayer maps, modes and tons of extras.

While many are waiting to finally play the legendary and re-mastered version of their favorite Microsoft title in 1080p resolution and 60 frames per-second, the standout feature many are purchasing the compilation for is early access to Halo Nightfall and the Halo 5: Guardians December beta.

The North American audience was set to receive the same release date nearly a week before any other territory, Microsoft listened to fans and decided a simultaneous launch was needed. With the exception of Belgium (November 12), Japan (November 13), and France (November 14) – gamers can expect the collection to arrive worldwide this November 11th.
