EA Announces ‘Battlefield Hardline’ & ’Star Wars: Battlefront’ Release Dates

Expect Battlefield 5 to arrive ‘sometime’ in 2016

Yesterday, Electronic Arts held a holiday earnings investor call to reveal important release dates through its next two fiscal years. This year, the company saw big releases in EA SPORTS UFC and Titanfall among many more. While they’re lacking a AAA-title for the 4th quarter (if you’re not counting Madden NFL 15), the company is looking ahead in the marathon for years to come. EA finally revealed the official release date for Battlefield Hardline, which is set to make a splash on consoles March 17, 2015.

They’ve said the release will not a fail we had to endure in 2013 with Battlefield 4, which we’re sure the delay the cops and robbers-themed release will be a standout feature this spring. The biggest note from the call however, was Star Wars: Battlefront arriving to digital as well as retail for holiday 2015, and will be a first person shooter.

This comes a huge surprise for many, as the series has traditionally been a third person combat-based title in previous years. While many are hesitant to accept the move to first person, we’re sure after its official unveiling at e3 in June will convince the masses to have this at the top of their must have games next to Halo 5.
