“Dead or Alive 5: Last Round” Officially Dated

Enjoy one last round before a SF: V announcement arrives in 2015

With both Tekken 7 and Tekken X Street Fighter still in limbo for receiving a proper roll-out, Bandai Namco Games ensured fans today that 2015 would start with a quality franchise. Following its debut trailer at PAX Prime last month, Dead or Alive: Last Round will officially be releasing this February 17, 2015 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles. One of the key standout features we’re loving about the upcoming brawler is that every unlocked title, costume, player and story mode progress you had in the original Dead or Alive 5 will transfer over when you boot up the next-generation version.

Longtime fans of the series like us will feel right at home nearly 9 years later following its release. The title will run retail at $39.99, with the choice going digital for $29.99 – but will also offer a Core Fighters version free of charge. PlayStation Network users will have unlimited access via free-to-download and every game mode available, with four free fighters including: Ayane, Hayate, Kasumi and Ryu Hayabusa.

The Xbox Live audience won’t be so lucky, as you’ll get all of the previously mentioned content the Sony consoles will have, but there will be a time-limit on how long you can play. For $4.99, however, the Core Fighters pack will be available on Xbox consoles, including the previous mentioned fighters alongside Hitomi, Tina, Jann Lee and Bass. Stay tuned for more details to surface in the coming weeks regarding special edition versions, as well as long-awaited fight sticks to run you back a couple of hundred bucks.
