Call of Duty looks to be taking a graphical next-generation leap in screen after the jump.

Last month, at the 2014 Game Developers Conference new Call of Duty developer Sledgehammer Games gave a private first look at their upcoming title releasing later this year. While the game was under the wraps until this morning recently when IGN posted a photo from the GDC Vault, Call of Duty 2014 (working title) is finally shown its first ever image.

In comparison to the Call of Duty: Ghosts for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Sledgehammer Games is building their upcoming fist entry into the popular series from the group up on next-generation. The image shows off the graphical jump of two characters in battle, mirroring Activison’s showcasing at last year’s GDC for facial and modeling demonstrations. With only a few weeks left until E3 in Los Angeles, this first screenshot leaves us very intrigued to at least see some gameplay for the pick-up and play shooter. Continue below to view the image.
