If anybody out there is still using Winamp, we hate to break it to you, but the player and all of its services will be shutting down next month. The popular player that reigned through the ’90s and early 2000′s announced today that as of December 21, it will cease to exist and will no longer offer downloads from that point forward.

The one minute spot illustrates everything the iPad is and has been thus far, except he forgot the whopping $500 price tag for 20% less weight and 8x the speed of anything on the Apple tablet market now.
For those looking to pick one up for the holidays, the sleek 5th generation Apple iPad (Air) goes on sale November 1st at all Apple retail stores and online.

Only six months after its inauguration, Twitter Music might be official deaded. According to AllThingsD, Twitter is considering shutting down its doors to the music app, after abysmal numbers in usage over the past few months.
The app was supposed to revolutionize the game in how fans discovered music, using their followers list to search for artists, songs their friends may have tweeted or singles that may have been currently trending. It also let you discover up and coming acts based on Twitter chatter and allowed you to search for artists through follower lists, in case someone you knew was keeping tabs and recently followed artist.
In theory, it should have been a great app, but as we told you the first day we tested it on our own, there were some major gaps to fill off the bat. For one, not everyone has Spotify, RDIO and/or wants to listen to 30 second snippets of music when you can probably find the full song on Soundcloud. Secondly, Twitter never used their platform to their advantage, to help get people familiar with the app. Not once did we hear of an album premiering on #TwitterMusic or any artists debut a single through it. They pretty much kept it separate from regular Twitter and it literally went unmentioned in our timeline since the first week it went live. We actually forgot #TwitterMusic existed.
No shots at Twitter, though. It was just a valiant attempt that came up short.

Whenever an Apple conference is held each year, it’s always a momentous occasion for one of the world’s leading brands and influences on modern day culture. Today’s occasion was no different, apart from the fact that customers of the company may be the happiest they’ve been in some time, based on a number of important decisions that have been made.
Firstly, the primary reason for the announcements were based around the reveal of the new iPad, with the fifth generation arriving in the form of the iPad Air. In short terms, the product will have a 10-hour battery life and work eight times faster than previous models, thanks to the addition of an A7 chip. At now an impressive 7.5mm and 20% thinner than the last release, users are given a completely lighter and aesthetically streamline design, holding a 1080p forward camera for FaceTime with a five megapixel on the rear. Although it will be a no cellular version, you can expect it to be released on November 1st, with the current price standing at $500 for a 16GB model.
If you’re looking to grab the second generation of the iPad Mini, you’ll be pleased to know that it also has an A7 chip which will work at the same speed and battery duration as the iPad Air, but will also include a Retina display. This will be available at some point during the end of November, and will be priced at $400 for a 16GB model.
Too little, too late? Maybe so, but the once epic way of communicating, via Blackberry Messenger, has finally arrived for the iOS and Android platforms. What does this mean? Not much, besides the fact that WhatsApp and other apps have a little more competition in the market, but don’t worry, you won’t have to give out your email and/or phone number by using this. It works just like it used to, through a PIN code.
After numerous attempts to download through Google Play and the Apple app store, we found a simple trick to it all. Type in “BBM.com” into your phone browser and it’ll send you to a direct link to the app for download. Yup, it’s that easy.
And to think, we’ve been waiting weeks for them to roll out.
BBM IS BACK!
UPDATE: If you didn’t sign up at the website for updates, you will have to wait in queue for a spot in line to download the app. For those who did, your spot is already reserved and you will jump straight to the sign up process. Good luck!

OS REWIND: Spotify Connect: A New Way To Listen At Home
If you have Spotify (premium at that), this new feature they have introduced called Connect might be of interest to you. Basically, what they have done is found a way to seamlessly switch your listening experience from different devices to play in different rooms and/or speakers at your preference. So if you come home and you’re listening to music through your phone, you can switch to your living room speakers and Spotify on your iPad. Or from your Kitchen dock, to your bedroom speakers and vice versa.
The new update will be available to Spotify Premium subscribers on iPhone, iPad and home audio systems in the near future, and Android and desktop users soon after.
As you may well know, Instagram has been one of the leading applications for smartphones for approximately two and a half years, keeping their software up to date with exclusive features in the process of maintaining a smooth interface.
Capturing the most thrilling photos and becoming an expert with the filters has always been something that users have enjoyed, but we’re now introduced with an option to post videos. When you go to take a new photo on Instagram in the latest update, you will now see an icon that allows you to take a 15-second video. Whether you chose to use separate applications for videos and photographs in the past or not, everything can now be done in one simple application. It’s time to get used to a little more variation on your home page.

Have you ever wondered whether an artist’s Facebook page is official or not? The social networking site has now included an option that informs you if the page is legit, which can only seem like an idea that was originally introduced by Twitter. Although it may seem like they’ve stolen the idea from elsewhere, this should be a major change to the way that artists and such achieve further likes. In order to gain a verified badge on your page, the account will still have to be in a popular position such as celebrities, major brands, government officials and notable journalists.

As the months continue to pass, major technical companies are hard at work in order to find ways of making our lives easier (we’d like to think). Today, Gmail revealed the brand new changes that are currently making their way to inboxes across the world.
So what exactly will the new update entail? In yet another attempt to make the sorting of emails much easier, Google have introduced five tabs to help arrange your recent messages. These tabs will include a primary, social, promotion, updates and forum separation, with the option to customize the titles of your choice.
However, if these changes aren’t particularly suited to your liking, all is not lost. You’ll be able to switch back to the original setup if their additions are simply a nuisance. Prepare to say goodbye to Google Reader, and hello to their latest update.

The idea of BlackBerry’s popular BBM application making its way onto a number of different platforms has been a topic of conversation for quite some time. Today the company revealed that the messenger is now set to reach iOS and Android services for the first time this summer.
There’s no doubt that the software set the boundaries for some of today’s most popular free messaging platforms, but BlackBerry feel that now is the time to make their mark in making friends and family connected in an even easier way. The first version of BBM for alternative phones will focus on providing singular/multi-person chat options and voice note sharing, with the free release becoming available worldwide in the coming months.

If you logged on to Instagram this morning, you might have noticed something different, because they rolled out with a new feature called “Photos Of You.” What is it, exactly? It’s basically a way for you to tag people in your photos, like you would on Facebook. Now you don’t have to tag them in the caption, you can add them straight to the picture.
For now, the pointless feature is not visible to everyone but starting May 16, it will go live and show up on your account (we’re guessing online and through mobile). You can edit settings and find out more about “Photos Of You” at Instagram online.
