After teasing the visual last week, R&R Productions return with their latest sit-down with August Alsina. The New Orleans singer spoke on the likes of not taking smiles for granted, friends still working in the streets, aiming to make a change in the world and much more, along with footage of a recent show merged into the clip.
The conversation happens to coincide with August’s new version of “No Love” with Nicki Minaj, released earlier today.
August Alsina has had breakout success this year with the debut of his major album, Testimony. Landing multiple nominations thus far, including winning Best New Artist at last month’s BET Awards, August has solidified his status as one of the newest R&B artists and we think that’s not going away anytime soon. After numerous Instagram teases over the weeks, he finally shares the official remix to his Drumma Boy and The Exclusives-produced cut “No Love.”
We’re surprised he waited this long to make the track a single, but with the addition of Nicki Minaj, we expect its lifespan to extend further – especially those album sales.

After hearing August Alsina do his think yesterday on Kirko Bangz single, he is now heard on QUE’s new one, set to appear on the upcoming Can U Digg It? project. It looks like Alsina is quickly rising to become that new “it” hook-guy, proving to hold his own and shine on the female oriented “Diamonds” as well.
Produced by Jazz Feezy.
Album: Bigger Than Me
Label: Atlantic Records
Earlier this year Kirko Bangz hit us with his DJ Mustard-produced club smash “Hoe” and followed that up with the release of his unexpected Progression IV mixtape. Now back on his album grind, the H-Tine rapper delivers his brand new single “Rich” and brings along fellow down south rep in August Alsina to assist him on the track, handling the hook duties. Listen as they two tell us about living a wealthy life while attempting to acquire them M’s on the new track.
Look out for Kirko’s debut album Bigger Than Me set to impact later this year.

New Orleans singer-songwriter August Alsina has come a long way from uploading clips of himself covering and remixing his favorite tunes on YouTube. With little to no buzz at all, Alsina released his breakthrough mixtape The Product in April of 2012, which had people talking and ultimately grabbed him a record deal with Def Jam. Following his signing to the label, he released two more mixtapes that featured plenty of dope tracks.
At the top of last year he released his chart topping single “I Luv This Shit” alongside label-mate Trinidad Jame$, which has since been labeled certified gold by the RIAA. Since the success of that record things have been moving in an upward fashion for Alsina, as he’s been able to make his mark in the game and link up with some of the top players in the industry and be apart of tours that seen him perform in venues across the US.
Now that things are for sure going his way, it was finally time for him to deliver his debut album to the masses with the release of Testimony. The album is highlighted with the singles “Ghetto” with Yo Gotti, “Numb” with B.o.B and Yo Gotti and “Make It Home” with Young Jeezy. Other features on the album come from Rick Ross, Pusha T, Fabolous, Trey Songz and Chris Brown.
Now that we’ve allowed a few days to pass in order to let the project sink in a little, myself and the rest of the OS staff have decided to take some time out of our day to highlight some of our favorite tracks from the debut LP. Check after the jump to see our picks and leave your favorite track(s) in the comments.
